The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has successfully completed the distribution of 6,000 food packages to families affected by natural disasters across ten districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), in a major humanitarian initiative carried out in collaboration with national and regional disaster authorities.
The relief operation benefitted more than 41,121 individuals, reaffirming KSrelief’s long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in Pakistan.
According to details, the food packages were distributed as follows: 325 in Muzaffarabad, 542 in Jhelum Valley, 433 in Neelum, 796 in Kotli, 281 in Bhimber, 250 in Mirpur, 1,040 in Sudhnoti, 1,073 in Poonch, 934 in Haveli, and 326 in Bagh.
Each food package, weighing 95 kilograms, comprised 80 kg of flour, 5 liters of cooking oil, 5 kg of sugar, and 5 kg of lentils (chana dal) — sufficient to sustain a family for an extended period.
The relief activity was conducted in close coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the State Disaster Management Authority of AJK, and the Hayat Foundation, ensuring transparency, timely delivery, and equitable distribution of aid to those most in need.
Speaking at a distribution ceremony in Muzaffarabad, Sardar Waheed, Director General of AJK’s Disaster Management Authority, expressed heartfelt gratitude to King Salman Relief and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their continuous and generous support to the people of Azad Kashmir.
The initiative is part of KSrelief’s broader efforts to assist communities in crisis around the world, particularly those impacted by natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies.
