The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has completed the first phase of its Livestock-Based Economic Empowerment Project in Pakistan, delivering livelihood support to vulnerable households across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Under Phase 1, a total of 1,000 beneficiary families from Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral, Lower Dir, and Upper Dir received two vaccinated goats, four bags of silage, and practical training provided by the Livestock Department. The intervention aims to help households build sustainable income through livestock production. According to officials, the first phase benefitted 7,250 individuals.
The initiative has been implemented by Peach and Development Organization in partnership with the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department (RRSD) and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The project is designed to strengthen economic resilience and improve food security in some of the province’s most vulnerable districts.
With Phase 1 now completed, KSrelief is preparing to roll out Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the programme. The next phases will expand support to households in Swat, Swabi, Haripur, and Mansehra through the provision of poultry packages — each consisting of 25 poultry birds, a complete poultry kit, and training on poultry management and income generation.
In addition, families in Charsadda, Mardan, and Nowshera will receive cattle, silage, and hands-on training in animal care and dairy production to enhance their long-term livelihood opportunities.
KSrelief says the multi-phase project reflects its continued commitment to strengthening self-reliance, improving nutrition, and supporting sustainable economic stability for vulnerable communities across Pakistan.
