ISLAMABAD: The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has pledged full support for Pakistan’s post-flood recovery while exploring new avenues of cooperation in youth development and artificial intelligence.
On September 1, 2025, ISESCO Director General Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik received Pakistan’s Ambassador to Morocco, Adel Gilani, at the organization’s headquarters in Rabat. The two sides discussed strengthening ties in education, science, and culture, with Dr. Al-Malik reaffirming solidarity with Pakistan following the devastating floods that struck the country in late August.
Dr. Al-Malik stressed ISESCO’s commitment to helping member states during crises, particularly in protecting educational institutions and cultural heritage sites affected by natural disasters.
Ambassador Gilani thanked ISESCO for its timely support, noting that the floods had caused loss of life and severe damage, including the destruction of schools. He praised ISESCO’s broader role in promoting resilience and development across the Islamic world.
Both sides also reviewed ongoing cooperation and agreed to accelerate joint initiatives, including projects aimed at building youth capacities and leveraging AI technologies for education and cultural preservation.
The meeting concluded with a mutual pledge to deepen collaboration under ISESCO’s framework of fostering innovation, sustainable development, and knowledge-sharing among member states.
