A terrorist attack targeting the Taibah electricity distribution station in Madinah resulted in one power transformer being taken out of service, but caused no impact on the electricity network, according to the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen.
Official Coalition Spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Malki said the attack occurred at 5:11 AM on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
He said competent authorities investigating the incident had confirmed the involvement of the Terrorist Houthi Militia in planning and executing the attack.
Major General Al-Malki said the conclusion was based on an after-action review and the wreckage of the drone used in the attack.
He said the targeted power distribution station is a civilian facility providing electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
The Coalition spokesperson said the attack was a continuation of the extremist militia’s attempts to target the Two Holy Mosques and its deliberate provocation of millions of Muslims worldwide through targeting Makkah and Madinah.
He said the Coalition would continue to take and implement measures to deter the Terrorist Houthi Militia, protect the Two Holy Mosques and ensure the safety of pilgrims in Makkah and Madinah.
