Pakistan’s top military spokesperson has accused India of orchestrating cross-border aggression and targeting innocent civilians to advance its domestic political agenda.
In a high-level briefing to international media, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry — joined by senior officers of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan Navy (PN) — presented evidence of what he called a deliberate campaign by India to destabilize Pakistan and mislead the international community.
Referring to the recent attack in Pahalgam, Lt Gen Sharif questioned how Indian authorities reached the site within 10 minutes and blamed Pakistan almost instantly. “Without any investigation, Indian media ran a coordinated campaign against Pakistan. This was a premeditated narrative,” he stated.
He alleged that India is targeting civilians in Pakistan, revealing that 33 people, including women and children, were killed in recent strikes. “Terrorism is being exported into Pakistan, and India is behind it,” the ISPR DG claimed.
He further disclosed that 60 Indian aircraft were airborne at the time of the Pahalgam incident and were tracked and engaged by Pakistani forces. An audio recording of a Rafale pilot’s communication during the episode was played for the media.
Videos were also shown of Kashmiri residents openly questioning the Indian government’s version of events, calling the Pahalgam attack “staged” and casting doubt on India’s security claims. “Even Indian politicians are criticising their own institutions for mishandling internal security,” he noted.
Lt Gen Sharif recalled past examples of false-flag operations, including the Pulwama attack, which he said was used to influence electoral outcomes. He referenced a public statement by a former governor of Jammu & Kashmir who admitted that Pulwama served political interests in India.
The ISPR DG accused India of supporting terrorist outfits like the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and ISIS affiliates to sponsor unrest in Pakistan. “Terrorist camps are operating inside India. Indian officials have themselves admitted to backing terrorism in Balochistan,” he said, while sharing fresh evidence of sabotage operations.
He challenged India to present any evidence before an impartial international commission. “Who empowered India to act as judge, jury, and executioner?” he asked.
The spokesperson also condemned Indian forces for committing atrocities in occupied Kashmir and torturing civilians who mistakenly cross the border. Video testimonies of these abuses were played during the briefing.
Footage of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior officials making inflammatory statements against Pakistan was also shown, along with a clip of captured Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav confessing to his role in subversive operations within Pakistan.
Separately, Lt Gen Sharif revealed that Pakistani forces had shot down 77 Indian drones in recent days amid rising tensions. According to security sources, 29 drones were intercepted by May 8, with an additional 48 downed overnight in cities including Okara, Vehari, and Pakpattan.
“Our air defense system tracks every drone, and all operations are conducted with precision even in civilian areas and in the presence of commercial flights,” he assured.
Lt Gen Sharif concluded by reaffirming that Pakistan will protect its sovereignty and dignity at all costs, and invited international journalists to verify the facts presented firsthand.
