The Karachi administration has revised the official prices of flour, increasing wholesale and retail rates for regular and fine flour while retaining the existing price of chakki flour.
Under the latest notification issued on July 9, the wholesale price of regular flour has been fixed at Rs122 per kilogram, up from Rs110, while the retail rate has increased to Rs125 per kilogram from the previous Rs113.
Similarly, the wholesale price of fine flour has been raised from Rs118 to Rs132 per kilogram, with the retail rate increasing from Rs121 to Rs135 per kilogram.
However, the retail price of chakki flour has remained unchanged at Rs145 per kilogram.
Commissioner Karachi has instructed retailers to display the government-approved price list at a prominent place in their shops and cautioned that strict legal action will be taken against those violating the officially notified prices.
