Shifa International Hospitals Limited (SIHL) has approved the merger of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shifa Medical Center Islamabad (Private) Limited (SMCI), into the parent company to simplify its corporate structure and enhance operational efficiency.
In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday, SIHL said the amalgamation is aimed at eliminating redundant administrative layers and inter-company relationships.
“The merger will consolidate resources, leading to better asset utilisation, improved financial reporting through unified statements, and centralised management of liabilities,” the company said in its statement.
SIHL added that direct control over operations would enable faster decision-making and improve productivity, while a single-entity structure would facilitate future growth, ease capital raising, and strengthen the group’s market presence.
“These measures will ensure the company is well-positioned for expansion and long-term success,” the statement read.
Incorporated in 1987 and listed as a public limited company in 1989, Shifa International Hospitals is one of Pakistan’s leading healthcare groups, operating medical centres, hospitals, pharmacies, and lab collection points nationwide.
