Saudi Arabia has received Fijian conjoined twins Jesibelle and Desisia for specialized medical evaluation to determine whether they can undergo separation surgery under the Kingdom’s internationally recognized Conjoined Twins Program.
The twins arrived in Riyadh under directives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud before being transferred to King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital.
A multidisciplinary medical team, led by KSrelief Supervisor-General Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, will conduct a detailed assessment of the twins’ condition to determine the feasibility of surgical separation.
Dr. Al Rabeeah said the programme demonstrates Saudi Arabia’s longstanding humanitarian commitment and its global leadership in managing highly complex conjoined twin cases.
The family of Jesibelle and Desisia expressed sincere appreciation to the Saudi leadership and people for the warm reception and immediate medical attention, thanking the Kingdom for extending humanitarian support to their daughters.
