ISLAMABAD:
In a significant surge, gold prices in Pakistan have reached unprecedented levels, with the rate per tola (approximately 11.66 grams) surpassing Rs300,000 for the first time in history. This increase is attributed to rising prices in the international bullion market.
As of February 10, 2025, the international gold price experienced a sharp increase of $42, bringing it to $2,903 per ounce. Consequently, the local gold market in Pakistan witnessed a substantial hike, with the per tola price increasing by Rs4,000 and the 10-gram price by Rs3,429. This escalation has set new records, with per tola gold priced at Rs303,000 and 10-gram gold at Rs259,773.

The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) has confirmed these figures, highlighting the direct correlation between international market trends and local pricing. The association also noted that local gold prices are typically adjusted with a premium of $20 over international rates.
This unprecedented rise in gold prices has significant implications for investors, jewelers, and consumers in Pakistan, reflecting broader trends in the global precious metals market.
