ISLAMABAD: Mari Energies Limited has moved closer to commercializing its Spinwam Gas Discovery by selecting a buyer for up to 17.5 MMscfd of natural gas under Pakistan’s recently introduced third-party gas sale mechanism.
The company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that it has issued a Letter of Award to Universal Gas Distribution Company (Pvt) Ltd after concluding a competitive bidding process initiated through an invitation published on May 15, 2026.
The award covers the sale of up to 17.5 MMscfd of gas from the Spinwam Gas Discovery located in the Waziristan Block of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mari Energies said the project will now proceed to the regulatory approval stage, with all necessary permissions to be secured under the Framework for Sale of Gas to Third Parties notified by the federal government through S.R.O. 11(I)/2025.
The company noted that commercial execution of the agreement will commence after completion of all applicable regulatory requirements.
Mari Energies operates the Waziristan Block with a 55% participating interest, while OGDCL and Orient Petroleum Inc. hold 35% and 10% working interests, respectively.
The disclosure was issued as material and price-sensitive information to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
