Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has begun producing 1,100 barrels of oil per day from its newly drilled development well, Pasakhi-14, located in the Hyderabad district of Sindh.

The well falls under the Pasakhi & Pasakhi North Development & Production Lease (D&PL), where OGDC holds a 100 percent working interest.

OGDC successfully delineated, drilled, and tested the Pasakhi-14 well using its in-house technical expertise. Drilled to a depth of 2,183 metres, the well targets the hydrocarbon-bearing upper sands of the Lower Goru formation.

For this project, the Company deployed advanced drilling technologies, including a Rotary Steerable System (RSS), Electromagnetic Measurement While Drilling (MWD), and a nitrified mud system, which OGDC used for the first time. These technologies ensured precise directional control, protected formation integrity, and contributed to robust production results. The well has been completed with a state-of-the-art Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) to enhance production efficiency.

The start of production from Pasakhi-14 underscores OGDC’s continued emphasis on exploration-led growth, operational excellence, and production optimisation. The Company reaffirmed its commitment to creating shareholder value and strengthening Pakistan’s energy security through sustained investment in exploration and development projects.
