Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced a new oil and gas discovery at the Faqar-1 well, located in the Khairpur district of Sindh province.

According to an OGDCL spokesperson, the well is currently producing 55 barrels per day of crude oil and approximately 6.4 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of natural gas.

The discovery was made possible through the use of advanced exploration and production technologies, underscoring the company’s technical capabilities and focus on maximizing domestic hydrocarbon resources.

“The successful drilling and testing of the Faqar-1 well represent another milestone in OGDCL’s exploration efforts and reflect our commitment to ensuring energy security for Pakistan,” the spokesperson said.

OGDCL believes that the newly discovered reserves will play a meaningful role in reducing the country’s energy shortfall and strengthening the indigenous energy supply.

The company termed the Faqar-1 discovery a significant achievement in its continued efforts to expand exploration activities and contribute to the national energy portfolio.
