Saudi Arabia has begun the repatriation of Iranian pilgrims, with the first group arriving at Arar Airport on Sunday for their return to Iran via the Jadidat Arar Border Crossing. This initiative is being carried out under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and on the recommendation of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, in coordination with relevant Saudi authorities and the Iranian official mission, is leading the operation to ensure the safe, smooth, and dignified return of Iranian pilgrims. The effort reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to providing comprehensive services and care to all pilgrims until they are safely reunited with their families.
Upon arrival at Arar Airport, the Iranian pilgrims were welcomed by officials from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and partner agencies. Logistical support was immediately mobilized to facilitate their departure through the border crossing in close coordination with Iranian authorities.
Field teams from the ministry executed a detailed joint action plan to streamline the transfer process, ensuring efficiency and respect at every stage. A dedicated operations room was established to monitor the departures in real-time, ensuring all required services were delivered without delay.
The departure of this first group marks the start of a phased repatriation plan, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to uphold its responsibility in serving pilgrims from around the world with excellence and care.
