Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has invited German investors to play a greater role in Pakistan’s manufacturing and industrial development, citing the country’s improved economic stability, structural reforms, and growing investment potential.

The Minister extended this invitation during a meeting with a delegation of German investors and businessmen led by the German Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Ina Lepel. The delegation included members of the AHK German Bilateral Chamber of Commerce, which has been instrumental in strengthening Pakistan-Germany trade and industrial cooperation.

Senator Aurangzeb said Pakistan’s manufacturing and energy sectors are ripe for investment, supported by macroeconomic consolidation, a stable currency, and improved business confidence. He noted that the government’s reform agenda — focused on taxation, privatization, energy, and public finance — is aimed at fostering an environment conducive to industrial expansion and foreign direct investment.

“The manufacturing base in Pakistan is expanding, and German technology, precision, and expertise can help us move toward high-value production and export competitiveness,” Aurangzeb remarked.

He informed the delegation that Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves now provide around two and a half months of import cover, inflation is expected to stay within 5–7 percent this fiscal year, and the outlook from major credit rating agencies — Fitch, S&P, and Moody’s — has turned positive.

Aurangzeb also mentioned the government’s active privatization program, under which 34 state-owned enterprises have been moved to the Privatization Commission, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), currently undergoing due diligence by four global groups.

Highlighting Pakistan’s re-entry plans into international capital markets, he said the issuance of Panda Bonds in China and Eurobonds in 2026 will further enhance investor confidence.

The Finance Minister reaffirmed that Pakistan welcomes partnerships that promote technology transfer, industrial modernization, and sustainable job creation — areas where German companies have global leadership.

He encouraged German firms to explore Pakistan’s manufacturing, technology, and renewable energy sectors, stressing that “Pakistan today is stable, reforming, and open for business.”
