ISLAMABAD: Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the 45th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran will commence on Saturday, Safar 15, 1447 AH, corresponding to August 9, 2025.

Organized and supervised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, the prestigious competition will be held at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. A record number of contestants from 128 countries will participate— the highest since the event’s inception in 1399 AH—underscoring its growing global prominence and influence in the field of Quranic competitions.

The competition is recognized as one of the most distinguished Quranic contests worldwide. It reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to supporting Quranic programs, strengthening its international role in serving the Holy Quran, and promoting a message of peace, goodness, and moderation.
