Pakistan is preparing to launch its first-ever Maritime Investment Forum 2025, a high-profile event that will highlight the country’s untapped potential in the blue economy and maritime sectors.

Chaired by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, a recent planning meeting finalized key arrangements for the event, which aims to attract global investors and development partners to projects spanning ports, fisheries, shipbuilding, coastal infrastructure, and marine transport.

Officials said the forum is envisioned as a strategic gateway for maritime investment, aligning with Pakistan’s broader economic diversification agenda and sustainable development goals.

“The Maritime Investment Forum 2025 will position Pakistan as a vital maritime player in the region,” the minister said. “It’s an opportunity to build investor confidence and showcase new projects that can transform our coastal and marine economy.”

The meeting also reviewed plans for an extensive international media and branding campaign to promote the event, along with a digital investment portal that will help investors access project information and submission templates online.

To enhance transparency and efficiency, the ministry will introduce standardized formats for project proposals and evaluation, enabling faster decision-making for public-private partnerships.

Officials noted that the forum would serve as a platform for dialogue between policymakers, investors, and industry leaders, supporting innovation, sustainable port development, and regional maritime trade linkages.

The minister emphasized that Pakistan’s vast coastline, fisheries, and strategic location along major trade routes give it a natural advantage to become a regional maritime hub, provided that infrastructure investment and regulatory reforms continue at pace.

The Maritime Investment Forum 2025 is expected to be announced formally in the coming weeks, with participation from international maritime organizations, private investors, and financial institutions.
