Staff Report
ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan’s star fast bowler Haris Rauf is doubtful for the second match of the ongoing tri-nation series against South Africa due to injury concerns.
According to sources, Rauf’s condition has improved, but the team management is considering resting him to ensure he fully recovers ahead of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also confirmed that they do not want to take any risks with his fitness.
The pacer sustained the injury during Pakistan’s match against New Zealand on Saturday. While his recovery is progressing well, the team is expected to make a final decision based on medical assessments before the game.
Rauf’s absence could be a setback for Pakistan, given his crucial role in the pace attack. However, the management prioritizes his long-term fitness with major international assignments ahead.
