Pakistani medical professionals in Saudi Arabia honoured former DG Health Dr Fayyaz Ahmed Ranjha during his Umrah visit, recognising his decades-long contributions to the healthcare sector and his role in strengthening medical institutions.
Dr Fayyaz Ahmed Ranjha, former Director General Health Pakistan and a Member of the Board of Trustees of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), was honoured at a gathering in Riyadh during his visit to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.

The event was attended by CPSP Regional Director Dr Tazeem Hussain, along with Dr Raheel Ahmed and Dr Raza Amin, who met Dr Ranjha and acknowledged his valuable services to the medical profession. A dinner was hosted in his honour at a local hotel.
Participants of the event highlighted Dr Ranjha’s extensive experience in the health sector, noting that he held several key positions and served with dedication and commitment. His role as Advisor on Health to the Federal Ombudsman was also appreciated.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ranjha emphasized the importance of maintaining high professional standards within CPSP and reiterated his commitment to enhancing the institution’s credibility and global standing.
He also praised the contributions of Pakistani doctors working in Saudi Arabia, stating that their professionalism and competence are bringing recognition to Pakistan internationally.
Dr Ranjha expressed satisfaction over the standing and recognition of the FCPS qualification and appreciated the efforts of CPSP leadership, including Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, Prof Shoaib Shafi, and the council members, for strengthening the institution.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr Ranjha was presented with a commemorative shield by CPSP Saudi Arabia in recognition of his contributions to the healthcare sector.
