Saudi Arabia is gearing up to host the official draw for the World Fire and Rescue Sport Championship on October 27, marking another milestone in the Kingdom’s expanding role as a global hub for international events.
The ceremony, organized by the General Directorate of Civil Defense in partnership with the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers (ISFFR), will take place at the organizing committee’s headquarters in Riyadh. Senior ISFFR officials, international referees, and heads of national delegations are expected to attend.
The draw will determine the team groupings, competition order, and schedules for four major events — hook ladder climb, 100-meter obstacle course, 4×100-meter relay, and firefighting contest — ahead of the championship’s official kickoff on October 28.
Officials said the championship highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to international cooperation, emergency preparedness, and civil defense excellence, aligning with the objectives of Vision 2030.
The event aims to enhance technical proficiency, endurance, and coordination among firefighting teams worldwide while promoting global partnerships in disaster management and public safety.
With participants from 21 countries across Asia, Europe, and Africa, the championship reflects growing confidence in the Kingdom’s ability to host high-profile, specialized sporting events that combine athleticism, professionalism, and humanitarian values.
